Mexico CULTURE
\Mexican culture has a lot of stereotypes in the world but the truth behind their colorful and inviting nature is the mixture of influences from historic events. Spanish influence has been accepted after Spain’s colonization of Mexico and have mixed with the elements from the United States that have crossed the border. There is also a large presence remaining from the indigenous civilizations such as: the Maya, Zapotec and Aztec’s. Their influence can be seen through art, architecture, textile, music, dance and cinema throughout Mexico.
Mexican cinema has been one consistent medium that has showcased Mexico to the world from the early 1940 when the Mexican film industry was as successful as Hollywood through to the 50’s. The industry still produces great films and also has a large number of successful directors including Alfonso Cuarón and Alejandro González Iñárritu.
Frida Kahlo is one of Mexico’s most internationally famous artists.
