Las Vegas, better known as Sin City, is the entertainment capital of the U.S. Every year, people travel to the city to visit the Las Vegas strip and try their hand in the casinos. Las Vegas was founded in 1905 as a railroad town. Its population has increased rapidly since then.  The city’s population is 583,756 within the city and 1,951,269 in its metro area. This growth is due to Las Vegas becoming a major resort city. Las Vegas is also well known for its shopping and for being the marriage capital of the world. Even through Las Vegas is primarily known for gambling, it also home too many museums such as the Las Vegas Natural History Museum. Las Vegas is located in a unique climate for such a large city because it is located in the Mojave Desert. The city has suffered water resource issues because of this climate, but this desert climate allows travelers to flock to Las Vegas all year round to enjoy some much needed sunshine.
