Italy FLORENCE

Florence is yet another Italian city filled with history and culture, but its smaller scale and artist influences makes it an important and beautiful destination for most travelers. It was the birth place of the Italian Renaissance, making it the best location for seeing some of the most influential and famous art from that period including Botticelli’s Venus and Michelangelo’s David. There are several museums to see these works of art including the Uffizi and the Pitti Palace. Throughout history it was common to have stores lining bridges, but this has become less common in modern times. The Ponte Vecchio is an arch bridge that is still lined with historical shops selling jewelry, art and souvenirs.
