India RELIGION
India’s religion is a strong defining aspect of the countries culture. The main religions practiced in India include Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism, Ayyavazhi and Sikhism. These religions can be tracked back through history with written text and sculptures proving their existence. Religious statues, structures and temples are widely spread throughout India and are popular travel destinations for tourists. The most famous temples include Harmandir Sahib, Taj Mahal, Tirumala Venkateswara Temple and Akshardham, which is the largest Hindu temple in the world. Buddha and Shiva statues are well known, but the less known ones from some of the other religions include Lord Vishnu, Jain and Mahavira.
