Women in Madhya Pradesh

The rich Indian culture can be traced back on paper over 2,500years, resulting in a country that has strong traditions apparent in society.  The social hierarchies in India are strict compared to western countries and family values are highly respected. Arranged marriages are still common practice in India with a high rate of individuals giving their families consent to arrange it for them. Marriage is highly valued and is seen as something that will last for life, making divorce rates particularly low. India culture also encourages the wearing of their traditional dress. Women’s Sari’s and men’s dhoti or lungi’s differ in colors and styles in different regions in India depending on religion and climate.
