China NATURE
China spans a total area of 3,704,427 sq. mi, so there is no surprise that it is a country made up of a varying climates and environments. Moving through the country the landscape involves deserts, mountain ranges, rice fields, thick jungle, coastal beaches, murky river banks and everything in-between. Generally the country is elevated in the west slowly decreasing towards the eastern coastline.
Around 70% of the country is covered in mountain ranges, hills and the Tibetan Plateau which is the biggest and highest plateau in the world. The Himalayas divide the southern China with the center and of course includes Mt Everest; the tallest mountain in the world.
The low lying areas are where there is majority of the country’s population reside and are a mixture of lush greenery, sand dunes and broad plains. Rivers run through the land providing water to the fields, forest and to villages that have built up along river banks.
