Australia ULURU

Early morning sun

Situated in Uluru-Kata Tjuta national Park is one of Australia’s most recognizable landmarks, Uluru or Ayers Rock.  Uluru is a red sandstone rock formation that is a sacred location for the local Aborginal people, the Anangu. The stunning aspect of Uluru is that it is surrounded by flat land. The rock was formed from original mountain ranges eroding away to leave behind this “island” with intriguing patterns and shape. There has been a large push over the years to ban people climbing to the top of Uluru because it is considered sacred land. For now it is still open but the future looks uncertain.
