Holiday time is the most beautiful time of the year and many people enjoy travelling. From time to time everyone of us needs a little break, time to get away from stress and daily routine. There are many different ways of travelling. For example a short break in a wellness hotel where you can enjoy massage and aroma therapies an make use of numerous spa facilities, a ski holiday with your friends in a popular mountain ski resort, a cruise with a cruise liner or a family holiday in a club hotel with lots of convenient facilities for families with children.

Another interesting option is a round trip. Many travel agencies or internet booking platforms offer round trips. A round trip gives you the possibility to see and discover many different towns, cities and places in a short period of time. Round trips are very popular and can be booked for almost any destination. You just have to pick your favourite destination and find the provider that meets your needs and expectations. The variety of round trips ranges from tours around Italy and trips to the famous French Loire Castles up to guided tours around China or the USA.A round trip is an opportunity to see a little bit more of a country and usually those trips include visits to important cultural places and sights. Round trips can be a very interesting holiday alternative for all those, who are not primarily interested in a “Sun and Beach Holiday”.

Travel in Mexico

November 4th, 2011

Mexico is a diverse country where anything goes. It is considered part of North America and is filled with a mix of influences from Central America, the United States and Spain. While travelling through the country you will come across everything “typically” Mexican but will also be welcomed by the kind locals who are extremely friendly and laid back.

Museum of Anthropology

Mexico City is the capital of Mexico and the main hub for culture, finance and business. This big city is a great place for visiting museums and watching the Mariachi bands perform. The other great city that embodies Mexico culture is Oaxaca. Here you will find the best Mexican crafts on offer by some of the most talented artists. You can also explore the surrounding environments which boast ancient ruins and national parks. But if you are after ancient Maya ruins the best destination is Palenque. Ruins found in thick forest dating back to 100BC can be found in the ancient city and must be seen to be believed.

Kukulcan Temple at Chichen Itza

The natural landscape of Mexico has a lot to offer the outdoor traveler and it changes region to region just like the climate. Trip to the Baltic Sea

October 6th, 2011

For the past few weeks I have been stuck inside learning about the ins and outs of human anatomy for an upcoming exam. I could see the sun shining out my window while I sat at the computer reading through all the information on kenHub to help boost my knowledge base. It worked and I passed my exam, so I decided it was time for a much deserved holiday.

With a high over the country I headed north from Berlin to the Baltic Sea. In many of the countries bordering the sea it is known as the ‘East Sea’. During winter months up to 45% of the sea can be frozen and tends to typically be in the northern regions. This ice shelf makes the perfect home for both the grey seal and Baltic ringed seal, which use it for mating and resting. As the summer months approach the ice slowly melts and is normally all gone by June.

Lucky for me it was August and I was met with a warm summer breeze as I arrived at the beach. I lay on the beach all day warming my body before dashing into the refreshing waves to cool off. Finally I was losing my pale hue from so much time sitting inside and getting a nice summer tan. Also it was nice to move around freely, using the bones and muscles I had just been so laboriously learning about!

Travel in AUSTRALIA

September 14th, 2011

Australia is a vast country filled with many things wild and wonderful and is one of the most popular destinations in the Southern Hemisphere. It might be far away from the main land masses of Europe and the States, but this seclusion only adds to the countries allure.

Australia

In the highly populated cities like Melbourne and Sydney there is a strong cosmopolitan life style. The locals enjoy an easy flow between indoor and outdoor activities, moving from the shops to the beaches or parks. Lake Waddy, Fraser Island

The natural wonders in Australia are breath taking and there is something for everyone. A beautiful coastal drive along the Great Ocean Road is the perfect way to see some of Australia’s famous landmarks or a trip inland allows you to witness the sacred Uluru.

The wildlife found throughout Australia is also very special, with some of the world’s most deadly animals calling it home. But don’t let that put you off a trip, some a very cute and fascinating.

There are many islands around the coast of Australia that are great for getaways and also introduce visitors to different climates and ecosystems. Tasmania is the largest Australian island, which is growing quickly in popularity.

With great weather, relaxed people and an endless supply of beaches and outdoor activities; Australia is a hard place to leave, so beware!

The National Parks in Canada are ranked amongst the best in the world and are home to Glaciers, Mountains, Rivers and majestic Lakes. Coastal Islands and the Arctic Circle also provide polar opposite environments that can be explored alone or with great guided tours.

Canadian RockiesTwo words, CANADIAN ROCKIES. Running roughly along the border line between British Columbia and Alberta provinces, the Canadian Rockies dominate the landscape. The numerous peaks and ranges of the ranges block British Columbia from Eastern Canada, so in the 1880’s the Canadian Pacific Railway was built as a connection. Today you can take a variety trains through the Canadian Rockies and be wowed by the spectacular views and experience.

Far east is Cape Breton Highlands National Park, which is great for hiking and mountain biking.

Niagara FallsThe NIAGARA FALLS might be one of the famous icons of Canada and on the top of everyone’s travel destination list. There is a reason for that. It is magnificent! Doesn’t matter when you visit, it always manages to impress and take your breath away. Niagara Falls is located on the border between Canada and the United States with one water fall in each country. The Canadian Horseshoe Falls is the larger of the two and can drop more than 100,000 cubic feet of water per second. The water flow of the falls is resourcefully used to create hydroelectric power. Fantastic boat tours are available to take you right up to the falls, to the point where you are hiding your camera from the water spray. Grand Manan is located on the east coast of Canada with some of the strongest tides in the world. More populated than Haida Gawaii, Grand Manen provides awesome cliff views and the great Swallow Tail lighthouse. Venturing North there is an abundance of islands filling the Arctic Circle with are largely uninhibited.

North American BeaverWith the vast and varying ecosystems in Canada, it is no wonder that a wide variety of WILDLIFE can be found throughout the country. The North American Beaver is a well known symbol of Canada, along with other well known mammals such as the moose, the caribou and the Canada lynx. The brown bear and grey wolf are large predators in Canada. The brown bear lives predominately in the Northern Provence’s, but the grey wolf territories cover majority of Canada. Far north in the Arctic Circle are the magnificent and mysterious Polar Bears. Having adapted over time to live in the harsh cold temperatures, there is now concern over climate change affecting their habitat.
